IMPROVEMENTS

NOTICE TO BIDDERS



Sealed bids addressed to the Purchasing Manager, of the City of Royse City, Texas, will be received at the Office of the City Purchasing Department, City Hall, 305 N. Arch Street, Royse City, Texas 75189, until 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 29, 2019 and then publicly opened and read for furnishing all plant, labor, materials, machinery,

equipment, and all necessary appurtenances for performing all work required for the project.



Project will generally include reconstruction of 1700 LF of 23’ – 31’ B-B Concrete Curb and Gutter Street with 10’ trail, 5’ sidewalk and reconstruction of residential driveways; replacement of 1950 LF 8” water mains, valves, connections and services; replacement of 1350 LF 8” sewer mains, manholes, cleanouts and services; and associated grading and utility adjustments.



An Alternate Bid for construction of 1000 SY of miscellaneous

pavement repairs will also be considered.



Proposals shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check on a state or national bank in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the possible total of the bid submitted, payable without recourse to the City of Royse City, Texas, or an acceptable bid bond for the same amount from An approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Texas to act as surety, as a guarantee that the bidder will

enter into a contract and execute required Performance and Payment Bonds within ten (10) days after notice of award of contract. The Owner intends to provide a notice of award of contract within sixty (60) days following the bid opening. Bids without required check or bid bond will be rejected.



Bids shall be marked “SEALED BID – “HOWARD STREET PAVING AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS” on the outside of the envelope.



The successful bidder must furnish a Performance Bond upon the form provided in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, a material and labor Payment Bond upon the form provided in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the

contract price, and a Maintenance Bond upon the form provided in the amount of fifty percent (50%) of the contract price for a period of two (2) years from a surety authorized under the laws of the State of Texas to act as a surety or other sureties acceptable to the City.



Should the bidder fail to produce evidence satisfactory to the City on any of the foregoing points, the bidder may be disqualified, and the work awarded to the next responsible bidder so qualifying.

Plans, specifications, and bidding documents may be examined

without charge at the office of Verdunity, Inc. 1601 Elm St. Floor 33 Dallas, Texas 75201, starting Thursday May 9, 2019 and may be

acquired on request at the office of Verdunity, Inc. for the price of seventy-five Dollars ($75) per set, which amount is non-refundable. Hours of availability will generally be 9am-3pm Monday through

Friday.



The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in the bids received. In case of ambiguity or lack of

clearness in stating prices in the bids, the City reserves the right to consider the most advantageous construction thereof, or to reject the bid. Unreasonable or unbalanced unit prices will be considered

sufficient cause of rejection of bids.
